Google news topic
Google News top stories, or one of its eight editorial sections.
Section feeds are story clusters, not flat articles: each row carries the
other outlets that covered the same story in related_articles, plus
coverage_count for how widely it was picked up, 70 rows on Business came
with 318 related articles behind them. total_articles counts the cluster,
returned counts the rows.
An unknown topic is rejected here because Google does not reject one: it redirects to the HTML homepage and returns an empty feed with HTTP 200, which reads exactly like a section with no news.
The example response below is real output from this endpoint, not an illustration. Long lists and long strings are shortened to keep the page readable, and each place that happens is marked. This example took 3.2s.
