Google news article
Resolve one Google News link to the publisher URL behind it.
Google News links carry an opaque id rather than the destination, and nothing in the id or in the article page's markup contains the URL, only Google's own RPC resolves it, and only against a signature that exists on that article's page alone. So this costs one ~120KB fetch the first time and is free forever after, because the mapping is permanent and cached.
An id Google will not resolve returns 502, never 404: Google declines for reasons unrelated to whether the article exists, and reporting a live article as gone is the more damaging error.
The example response below is real output from this endpoint, not an illustration. Long lists and long strings are shortened to keep the page readable, and each place that happens is marked. This example took 2.6s.
