Google news brand mentions

This is the endpoint to poll for brand monitoring. A single search caps at 100 articles for the whole range; this splits the range into one-day windows and fetches them together on one connection, which is what makes the answer complete rather than a sample, 7 days of one brand returned 589 unique articles against the 100 a single call stops at.

Alongside the deduplicated articles it returns daily_mentions (the shape of a spike), publishers ranked by how much each is writing about you, and saturated_days, the days that hit Google's 100-article cap and are therefore a floor rather than a total. Nothing is truncated silently.

aliases are OR'd into the same query rather than fanned out, so the platform cost stays at one call per day however many names the brand has. Use exclude_sites to drop your own newsroom from the count.

Cost is one request per day in the range: days=7 is 7 calls (~175KB), days=90 is 90.

The example response below is real output from this endpoint, not an illustration. Long lists and long strings are shortened to keep the page readable, and each place that happens is marked. This example took 3.2s.

Brand or entity to track, e.g. 'Nike'. Multi-word names are phrase-matched.

after?string

Start of an explicit range (YYYY-MM-DD). With before, that exact range; alone, runs forward to today.

aliases?array<string>

Other names for the same brand, e.g. ['Nike Inc', 'Air Jordan']. OR'd into one query, no extra requests.

before?string

End of an explicit range (YYYY-MM-DD). With after, that exact range; alone, walks days back from this date, so before=2026-03-15 with days=3 sweeps 2026-03-13..15.

country?string

ISO-2 edition country. Defaults to US.

days?integer

How many days back to sweep, ending today (UTC). One request per day. Ignored when after/before are given.

exclude_sites?array<string>

Publisher domains to drop (subdomains included), e.g. ['nike.com'] to exclude owned media. Applied after the fetch, not via Google's -site: operator, which does not exclude and degrades every result in the sweep; excluded reports how many rows were dropped.

language?string

Edition language, e.g. En, de, hi. Defaults to the country's default edition.

resolve_urls?boolean

Also resolve each article's real publisher URL. Costs one ~120KB page fetch per NEW article and is capped at 100 fresh resolutions per request (cache hits are free and uncapped); the response reports exactly how many were skipped.
